TECHNOLOGY UPdATES
For those of you who’ve hopped into Windows 10 early with the Technical Preview, you may have noticed Microsoft has begun pushing out its unified Windows 10 store. The purpose of the single unified store is for apps and services to work across all Windows 10 platforms, much like Android apps will work on any Android device. From a user point of view, this now means Microsoft’s entire Windows 10 device family, spanning PCs, tablets, Xbox One, and phones, are now all inter-connected under a single interface. Pick up an app or movie on your PC, and it will be available on your Windows phone. “This single Store experience will be the one way for apps and games to be discovered, purchased and updated across all of your devices", said senior marketing communications manager Brandon LeBlanc. “We’re also adding music, movies and TV shows into the Store for you purchase and access across all your devices too!” At the moment the Windows 10 store is pretty limited, Microsoft is just beginning to fill it with content. If you’ve got the Windows 10 Technical Preview you’ll notice a number of TV shows and movies have begun to crop up, with the initial Windows 10 Store roll-out allowing users from much of North America, Europe, and Australasia to begin purchasing content Microsoft has said have a lot more details on the Windows 10 Store, and Windows 10 itself, during its annual Build 2015 event in San Francisco, running from April 29th through to May 1st.
