The existence of Total War: Warhammer has been a poorly kept secret for some time now. It seems that SEGA and Creative Assembly have come to this very same conclusion, officially announcing the game while admitting in the press release that the announcement has come a bit earlier than planned.
“We’ve always loved the Warhammer universe, and couldn’t wait to approach it with the same colossal scale and authenticity that has characterised our titles for the last 15 years,” said Total War: WARHAMMER Project Lead, Ian Roxburgh. “We’re bringing it to life in a way that nobody’s attempted before.”
The turn-based campaign and real-time battles that the Total War series is know for will of course be returning, but now instead of puny humans it’ll be Orks, Elves and other Warhammer races duking it out.
No release date was announced, except that the game would be “Coming soon” for PC, SteamOS and Mac. However, one interesting snippet of news is that Total War: Warhammer will be followed up by a further two standalone titles to make a trilogy. Plus DLC has also been confirmed, too.
