The very first trailer for the forthcoming Star Wars: Battlefront has been released into the wild and it features some truly breathtaking graphics. Not surprisingly there doesn’t seem to be any true in-game footage, but what is shown is nevertheless pretty awesome.
Most of the trailer takes place on Endor, but toward the end we also get a look at Hoth. The trailer shows some rebels deploying a personal forcefield which ties in with the announce ability to customise character’s to a degree and change their loadouts.
Other news includes being able to swap between first and third person at will, and a max player cap of 40, depending on the chosen game mode. There won’t be a campaign as such, but apparently there will be something referred to as “crafted missions” that can be played solo or co-operatively with a friend via split-screen or online. Split-screen will also be possible in full-on multiplayer, and people playing in split-screen will even be able to spawn on each other’s location via a Partner system, as well as share unlocks and experience. Always nice to see split-screen catered for these days.
Toward the end of the trailer we also get a glimpse of Darth Vader himself, which presumably confirms that players will again be able to play as heroes and villains capable of decimating the enemy. Vehicles are naturally included, but thus far there hasn’t been any mention of Battlefront 2 style space battles, which is a real shame.
Finally if you pre-order now you’ll get access to the Battle of Jakku a week early on December 1st:
“The pivotal moment when the New Republic confronted key Imperial holdouts on a remote desert planet on the Outer Rim. Taking place in the aftermath of the Rebel victory in the Battle of Endor, players will experience the events that created the massive, battle-scarred landscape of Jakku shown in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Don’t fear, though, because everyone else will get it a week later. As pre-order bonuses go that one I can personally handle, since everybody will get it anyway.
Finally the game’s release date was confirmed as November 17th for the US, and November 20th for the UK.
By Zeus’ beard, I can’t freaking wait.
