Tom Clancy fans will no doubt be aware Rainbow Six is an elite group of counter-terrorist operatives, made up of members of the finest special forces soldiers from around the world. The absolute cream of the crop, the best of the best. We'll soon see that change once I get my hands on them in R6: Siege.
Anyway, Ubisoft has now released the first of a series of Rainbow Six: Siege trailers, each looking at top tactical units from around the globe and how they’re implemented in the multiplayer shooter. We’re set to look at everything from SPETSNAZ to GIGN, GSG9, and FBI SWAT, but we’re kicking things off with the British SAS.
The British unit are skilled in rappelling, aerial assaults, gas, and light armour. They’ve also got a faintly ridiculous set of names. Who will you choose from Smoke, Mute, Sledge, and Thatcher? If I was eating cornflakes right now I would have choked reading that last one. Each of the units has different skills and abilities to complement each other, each united in having magnificently stiff upper lips.
