SAMSUNG Announces Pricing For New Curved Monitor Display

Samsung has announced the pricing and availability of its upcoming series of widescreen curved monitor displays. A total of four new monitors will be hitting store shelves in May 2015, ranging from relatively small 23.6” display up to a stunning 31.5-inch unit.
All but one of the monitors come with a curvature of 4000R, except for the SE590C display with a deeper curvature of 3000R. Every screen comes equipped with a relatively modest resolution of 1920 x 1080, 16:9 aspect ratio, response times of 4ms, 60Hz refresh rates and 178-degree viewing angles.
The SE510C model is available in 23.6 and 27” variants, priced at $300 and $380 respectively. Each is functionally identical except for the screen size. Next up is the slightly more expensive SE591C - coming in at $400. This one’s got a slightly better brightness, which should make the images pop a little more; great for those vibrant-looking games.
Finally the cream of the crop is the SE590C. The deeper 3000R curvature is a necessity for the larger 32” display, matching the natural curvature of the human eye when viewing it on a desk. This sumptuous looking monitor comes packing a 5000:1 static contrast ratio and retails for $600.
All four of monitors should be on sale in North America come May. No word on when Samsung is bringing them over to other territories just yet.
Any GD’ers already splashed out on a curved monitor? Do you think a curved display is worth upgrading to from a standard flatscreen, or is resolution ultimately the deciding factor?
