Two Expansion Packs For The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

CD Projekt RED has announced details of two massive expansion packs in the works for The Witcher : Wild Hunt. The two story-driven add-ons will grant an extra thirty hours of gameplay, with the first hopefully hitting in October this year and the second arriving in early 2016.
The Polish develop has said in no uncertain terms recently that it is not a fan of paid downloadable content, announcing late last year its intention to provide 16 pieces of DLC free of charge, at regularly intervals following The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s launch. These will still be arriving, in addition to the two big expansion packs - Hearts of Stone, and Blood and Wine.
With the development of Wild Hunt coming to an end, the team has embarked upon the creation of two new really big adventures set in The Witcher universe,” says Marcin IwiÅ„ski, CD Projekt RED co-founder. “We remember the time when add-on disks truly expanded games by delivering meaningful content. As gamers, we’d like to bring that back. We’ve said in the past that if we ever decide to release paid content, it will be vast in size and represent real value for the money. Both our expansions offer more hours of gameplay than quite a few standalone games out there.
Hearts of Stone will be a 10-hour journey taking Geralt into the harsh wilderness of No Man’s Land, complete with a new town - the seedy nooks and crannies of Oxenfurt. In Hearts of Stone the Man of Glass is contracting Geralt with a mysterious task.
The second expansion is the 20-hour Blood and Wine, taking place in the all-new region of Toussaint. This picturesque landscape is totally untouched by war, but its strange citizens harbour a dark secret.
Both of the expansions will be available as part of a $25 expansion pass, either bundled with the base game for a $5 discount, or bought separately.
Will you be grabbing these expansions when they come out? What do you make of the growing trend of announcing DLC plans before a game has even hit store shelves?
