There have been lots of partnerships within the world of games, some that were brilliant and some that should have been dropped into a deep dark hole. But this one seems to have been made in some sort of Heaven: Telltale are partnering up with Marvel to make games.
Marvel Games creative director Bill Roseman and executive producer Mike Jones turned up at an event in San Francisco today to make the announcement, saying that the games will “strive for authenticity, feel exquisite and sexy, and will be celebrated by Marvel fans.”
You’ll need to wait a while, though, because the first of these games apparently won’t arrive until 2017. No other details were revealed, either. Perhaps it’ll revolve around S.H.I.E.L.D., but one can hope for an Avengers themed Telltale game, right? Having said that Telltale would have to up their gameplay style considerably to really suit full-on superheroes, which leads me back down the S.H.I.E.L.D. path.
