Codemasters has announced F1 2015 will be cruising up to the start line come June 12th. Missing the start of the Formula 1 season by a good few months, F1 2015 will nevertheless be a big change for the series as it switches to its next-generation engine for the next iteration.
Games like GRID Autosport and last year’s F1 2014 have been locked on last-generation consoles alongside PC, not the best for testing the graphics potential of PCs, but this version comes rocking the brand-new game engine with an updated physics system for vehicle handling. This should ensure F1 2015 is the best looking and most authentic Formula 1 racer yet.
"On console we've had it very, very close to 60fps, certainly on PS4," said F1 2015's game designer Steven Embling. "Everyone at the studio is doing a fantastic with the optimisation, and we're in the final couple of months before release where there's a big push that we hit that 60fps, and that's the plan."
In terms of content, we’re going to be getting all of the 2014 season content, as well as the 2015 season’s new tracks and the majority of the cars. All of the content was locked down during the F1 pre-season, so anything that’s cropped up since then will be added as a post-launch update.
F1 2015 will be arriving on June 12th worldwide, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
