Just this week I posted a news piece that was more me despairing the current situation we have found ourselves in. At £33 the Batman: Arkham City season pass promised some very vague DLC plans in exchange for a massive amount of money. Not to be outdone it has been revealed the the forthcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops III has a £34.99 season pass. That you can pre-order. F****** what?
The season pass is available on Steam to pre-order and will net you four DLC packs. Just four, mind you. We can assume they’ll all be map packs, each containing about 3-4 maps. All for the price of a brand new game. You can also grab the deluxe edition for £69.99 which saves you a little bit of money.
That’s a lot of money for a game which isn’t out yet and four DLC packs that haven’t been explain. Moreover, why would you pre-order either thing? The game is digital so it’s not like it can sell out and all that happens is that you support lousy anti-consumer strategies, and the season pass is a season pass. It doesn’t matter when you buy it.
£34.99. Unbelievable.
