Screenshot And Teaser Trailer Emerges For Flagship AMD R9 390X Graphics Card

AMD has a put out a teaser video for its upcoming flagship Radeon R9 390X graphics card powered by the Fiji GPU. The ‘It’s Coming...’ teaser hints that we are just a matter of days away from concrete info on what could well be a GeForce GTX Titan X-beater.

The video is joined by a brand new screenshot of the graphics card, giving us what is our best look yet at Fiji graphics card in its entirety. When images of this card first leaked out we presumed it would be the Radeon R9 390X, but it’s also looking increasingly likely AMD is planning on launching a new premium-tier brand, much like Nvidia’s Titan series.

As you can see from the image below, the Radeon Fiji ‘390X’ is indeed a relatively small graphics card, powered by a pair of 8-pin power connectors. The shrink is no doubt down to the use of a single stack of 4GB HBM memory, rather than being forced to load it up with GDDR5. This also reduces the size of the liquid cooling needed, with the new shroud design marking a radical departure for AMD as well.

Those power connectors indicate the Radeon R9 390X will be a bit of guzzler when it comes to power consumption, likely drawing on at least 300W of power. You can see it for yourself below, as well as the official teaser video from AMD.
