D4: Dark Dreams Dont Die System Requirements

Deadly Premonition creator Swery has confirmed in an interview with Famitsu magazine that D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die will be launching on June 5th for PC, hitting Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store.
That means it’s just a few weeks until we can get our hands on this gaming oddity, which was previously exclusive to Xbox One. A murder mystery the likes of which you’ve likely never seen before, D4 has you playing as PI David Young, a time-travelling sleuth hunting for the secret behind his wife’s tragic death. Before you let it get its strange hooks into you though, read on to see the official D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die PC system requirements.
D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die Minimum System Requirements
  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9950 2.8 GHz or AMD Athlon II X4 645 3.1 GHz
  • RAM: 6 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 1GB Video Memory
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 470 or Radeon HD 6870
  • HDD: 10GB Available Space
  • DX: DirectX 11
  • Audio: DirectX 11 Compatible Sound Card
  • Other: Keyboard and mouse necessary
D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die Recommended System Requirements
  • OS: Windows 8 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz or AMD FX-9590 4.7GHz
  • RAM: 8 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 2GB Video Memory
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 or AMD Radeon HD 7850
  • HDD: 20GB Available Space
D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die's visuals, much like Deadly Premonition's, aren't exactly magnificent, and the gameplay meanwhile isn't massively fast-paced, which makes these system requirements seem a little bit lofty. Not many games make use of 6GB RAM as a minimum, and D4 isn't likely to join this group. Processor demands here aren't too bad though, and likely anyone with a low-mid tier modern gaming rig shouldn't have any problems here whatsoever.
The recommended requirements meanwhile look like the ramblings of a maniac. The graphics card demands are certainly on the high scale, but if you're absolutely intent on maxing D4 out then either the GTX 670 or the Radeon HD 7850 may be a necessity, but it's unlikely. The CPU demands are where things get a little ridiculous though. The i7-4770K and the FX-9590 are two processors right at the very, very high-end, and it would be quite the surprise if D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die chugged on anywhere near this sort of power. If it did, something would be going wrong along the way.
We'll find out soon just how reliable D4's PC system requirements are, but if you're on the edge about its performance we would expect anything around the minimum play Swery's adventure without any hitches whatsoever.
