First Dirt Rally Patch Tackles Radio Silence

Rally-driving fans were no doubt overjoyed when the latest Dirt Rally game emerged on Steam Early Access this week, on the same day as its announcement. In the ensuing days Codemasters has been busy putting together the first update, tackling a host of problems.
The new patch, released yesterday, fixes a number of issues players were having, including making the co-driver a little more chatty - some racers were even experiencing silence from their passenger, the lazy so and so. The Dirt Rally v03.1 also tackles problems based on player feedback, the full patch notes of which can be seen below.
  • Audio Fix - We had a word with the co-driver about his attitude and he should now be talking to you if he wasn't before.
  • Audio Fix - Resolved several instances of your co-driver speaking French for non French players (he's been taking lessons and wanted to practice).
  • Online Fix - Fixed the Daily Online events so you will now be correctly rewarded for completing the event.
  • Championship Fix - Resolved instances of incorrect weather combinations being generated during later championship events... We blame global warming.
Being an Early Access release there are of course still a few teething issues with the simulation rally racer, with Codemasters urging anybody with problems to send them an email with their dxdiags included, the details of which can be seen here
We’ve got our hands on a copy of Dirt Rally and we should hopefully have some benchmarks up soon, so keep your eyes out for that, as well as hands-on preview next week. In the meantime if you're picking of picking Dirt Rally up, remember to check out its official systemrequirements to see exactly how it'll run on your rig.
