Samsung might be gearing up to launch a new smartphone dubbed Galaxy J7. The device has gone up for pre-orders via Kazakhstan-based online retailer called Alser for a price of KZT 49,990 (approximately Rs 17,240). According to the retailer, the smartphone will go on sale beginning August.
Some of the specifications mentioned by the retailer hint at a 5.5-inch HD TFT LCD display with a 720 X 1280 pixel resolution. It is said to be powered by a 1.2GHz octa-core Marvell PXA1936 processor paired with 1.5GB RAM. In terms of memory, the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop based device is said to have an inbuilt storage at 16GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.
Earlier this month, there were rumours that Samsung ‘accidentally ‘ revealed almost everything about its next smartphone, dubbed Samsung Galaxy S6 Active on its website. The company had revealed a user manual on its US website, but took it down quickly.
According to the leaked manual, the new smartphone will sport a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. It will be powered by a Exynos 7420 octa-core processor and will include a non-upgradable internal storage of up to 32GB. It will also come equipped with a 16MP rear camera and will have a 5MP front-facing camera. Similar to the Galaxy S6, the phone will have a 2,550mAh battery. Most of the features on this new device are similar to the Galaxy S6.
