Windows 10 will be free to upgrade for non-genuine versions

Microsoft recently announced that they will be offering a free upgrade for previous Windows users, including users who have a pirated version of Windows 7. This is a great way to tackle piracy and I think Microsoft have done a good thing in doing this.

However, there is nothing free in this world. Microsoft has stated that pirated users will not get any support once they upgrade to Windows 10. So the chances are, they won’t be receiving any security updates and after a few months they will keep getting messages asking them to upgrade from a non-genuine version to a genuine one. So it sounds good but it probably won’t work out like everyone wants it to.

Windows 10 is going to be released in the summer and many users are looking forward from the step up from Windows 8 to 10. As you’re all probably aware, Windows 8 received some bad feedback when it was released and a lot of users didn’t like it, but now Microsoft is trying to fix that with Windows 10.
